Name: Elaine Brower on Oct 27, 2008Comments: The Nassau County PD must be held accountable for their actions, just like Bush & Cheney. We cannot allow them to get away with this.Flag

Name: SGT Selena Coppa on Oct 29, 2008Comments: I swore an oath to my constitution to protect the rights and freedoms of all citizens. To have these rights denied not just to citizens but combat veterans is against the pale. If the injury was indeed accidental and unintentional, as claimed, why no apologyFlag

Name: Jared Hood on Oct 29, 2008Comments: The officers that supposedly swear an oath to "protect and to serve" in Nassau County that are responsible for the riot they violently perpetrated on a peaceful crowd on October 15th, should be ashamed of themselves. They are the real disgrace in this case, not those veterans and supporters who stood up for what is right in this shameful political system police now defend with violence. These cowards protected by the false badge should be placed on unpaid suspension and a full investigation should occur. If it does not, the issue will be drawn out until the embarrassment condemns the Nassau County Government.Flag

Name: Robert Hughes on Oct 29, 2008Comments: The evidence is pretty clear from the videos that the only people that deserve "disorderly conduct" charges are the Nassau police along with ASSAULT and BATTERY. For charging mounted police officers onto a crowded side walk. If your court room has any dignity within it at all these charges should be dropped and a statement of apology made by the Nassau Police. My address is 123 1/2 S. Main St. Apt# 204 River Falls, WI 54022Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 29, 2008Comments: In addition, how dare officers sexually harass anyone who is in custody The officers who did so should turn in their badges, weapons, and issue a formal apology to all the veterans arrested that night. Having become like the criminals they put behind bars, they can either become hypocrites or honorable men.Flag

Name: Michael Nordstrom on Oct 29, 2008Comments: I served to defend the constitution and the rights it guarantees, not to have it denied to the people of this country. The behavior of these officers was worse then the way I treated the people of Iraq.Flag

Name: Nicholas McPherson on Oct 29, 2008Comments: I think it is disgusting that America can treat its veterans so poorly. I would hope that if the same thing happened in NZ the government would find themselves under immense pressure to explain why ....or wipe the charges which seem to be the worse case of abuse of power from the police..Flag

Name: Jake Towne on Oct 29, 2008Comments: The First Amendment reads: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. The officers of the law that night were anything but and should not only apologize, but be put on trial themselves.Flag

Name: Ryan Gehrke on Oct 29, 2008Comments: Another example of the strong-arm extension of the law. "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." Peaceful demonstrations are meant to be loud, and horses do not respond well to loud environments; therefore do not blame the animal, blame the human operating the animal.Flag
