The Petition

11.05.09 A Fort Lauderdale Police Officer was in a bad mood and walked up to John O’Callaghan from the Maine who was signing autographs outside of the venue they performed at. Kindly asking for a few more minutes to sign autographs, the police officer shoved John against a tree and quickly had John in handcuffs. Within minutes John was taken in where he was held in custody.

This petition is for the people against the Fort Lauderdale police, in asking that their officer that in unfairly arrested John O’Callaghan out of pure prior anger and didn't treat a citizen equally as should have been done.

The police are officers to protect and serve the people, not be above the people and act unfairly. For these actions, we believe the noted officer should be punished, and have to either write a public letter apologizing for his actions against John O’Callaghan or be let go of his job of which he does not deserve. The people of Fort Lauderdale should not have such individuals serving them to keep them safe if they cannot control their own emotions and pride.
