We, the undersigned respectfully ask that Knox County (TN) Sheriff Jimmy "JJ" Jones and Knox County District Attorney Randy Nichols recognize the May 31, 2010 death of Knoxville teenager Henry Granju as the drug-induced criminal homicide that Tennessee's existing Second Degree Murder Statute clearly deems it to be. Furthermore, recognizing that the problematic criminal investigation into Henry's case thus far has in no way reflected the truly excellent work of which both of these Knox County agencies are capable, we request that Sheriff Jones and Attorney General Nichols immediately redirect their resources to ensure a comprehensive, focused, unbiased and highly skilled criminal investigation into Henry's murder. This investigation should utilize recognized professional best practices, and should have a clear goal of identifying and arresting the person or persons responsible for this unsolved Knox County homicide.
