I support the demand for Justice for Javon Dawson. I support the demand to have Bernie McCabe removed from the investigation of the killing of Javon Dawson by St Petersburg Police Officer Terrence Nemeth.
Why the Uhuru Movement demands the State Attorney, Bernie McCabe, be removed from the Javon Dawson case:
Florida State Attorney Bernie McCabe has been interviewing members of the St. Pete police department as a part of his "investigation" of the murder of Javon Dawson by Officer Terrence Nemeth. This is a clear conflict of interest. He cannot possibly represent the people in this investigation when his job everyday is to work with the police to prosecute Africans that get funneled into the court system every day! The same police that are under investigation for trying to cover up the murder of Javon Dawson in the first place. This exposes the fact that McCabe has no interest in hearing from those in the African community who witnessed Nemeth shoot Javon. He only wants to lie and justify Javon's murder.
Why the Uhuru Movement is focusing on Governor Charlie Crist:
Governor Crist has a history of killing African people through his support of the death penalty, his resurrection of the chain gang system in Florida prisons and the policy of police containment of the African community which is responsible for not only Javon Dawson's death but over 30 other police killings in Florida this year! Crist is doing all he can to get the nomination for vice president. Crist has the authority to remove McCabe, but he will only do so if he understands that there will be political consequences if he does not take a just stand around the Javon Dawson case, and all the cases of young African men and women murdered by the police because of his policies!
