Attorney General Eric Holder,

We, residents of the State of California and employees of technology companies in Silicon Valley, are deeply saddened by the injustice that Trayvon Martin experienced at the hands of George Zimmerman.

In 1776, the founding fathers of our nation, in the Declaration of Independence, declared that ALL men are endowed with certain inalienable rights, and that "among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”  On February 26, 2012, Trayvon Martin’s basic civil right - a right to life - was violated when George Zimmerman shot and killed him.  We firmly believe that it is imperative that the Department of Justice take immediate action and file, at the very least, federal civil charges against George Zimmerman.  Failure to do so will compromise the principles that this country was founded upon and will put every US citizen’s inalienable right to life at risk.

Attorney General Holder, we implore you, please take action today.
