Lilly dedicated her life to her child, Dyrah. Dyrah is 12 years old now; she was born April 19, 1999. Dyrah weighed 1 pound 13 1/2 ounces. Lilly spent the next 18 months trying to keep Dyrah alive after a severe bout with RSV. Dyrah was born 3 months early. Lilly homeschooled Dyrah for 3 years to help get her up to par with the other kids. Lilly was killed by a Drunk Driver on May 14, 2011 at 11:58. She was going home after her mother’s birthday. Dyrah spent her last Birthday and Last Mother’s day with Lilly. She will never have those days or any special days with her mom again. They are all gone…Only memories. The Defendant Victoria Barry drove her vehicle, on the wrong side of the road and hit Lilly Duncan head on. She reported that all she remembers was getting in her vehicle and driving on the highway. When she woke up she was surrounded by firemen. She also reported having “a drink”, which must have been a big drink because she reportedly registered a .219 blood alcohol content (that’s almost triple the legal limit!) Recently reports show that the defense claims she wasn’t drunk and to make it better that she didn’t kill anyone. On 15 of August 2012 this woman will be sentenced. The defense is going through hoops to let this woman get away with taking the life of a great friend, daughter and mother. This is not justice any one with that high of a BAC shouldn’t even allow the defense to help them, how a person can sleep hoping to get by with no punishment after killing someone is absurd! This petition is going to be presented to the court asking for at the minimum 12 years. Help us bring justice to this grieving family.
