DCF Workers in Marion County Florida have failed to protect 6 Month old Dmitri Smith. After numerous reports that his mother, Karina Weller, was a danger to him, he was still left in the home.

Dmitri is now dead. Karina Welker is charged with aggravated child abuse. The autopsy shows numerous broken bones that are healed.

This tragedy could have been prevented if DCF actually made clients follow through with mandatory counseling, parenting classes and insisted new mothers take their babies in for regular check ups.
