Desmond was a shelter dog much loved by shelter volunteers who were thrilled when he was adopted. A year later Desmond's body was found, strangled, no food in his belly, in a trash bag in the woods. His owner, Alex Wullaert, admitted to strangling Desmond to death after the dog allegedly peed on his leg and bit him. Wullaert then dumped Desmond's body in the woods in January 2012 and went on with his life. Alex Wullaert has another dog and a young child. Besides the fact that Alex murdered a sweet dog who only wanted to please people, evidence proves that people who torture and kill animals are often violent psychopaths who move on to abuse and murder human beings. We petition for Justice for Desmond in the only way we can ask at this point- the maximum sentence for Alex Wullaert, removal of his living dog and child, and a higher penalty for those who choose to abuse innocent creatures who need depend on humans to provide basic necessities and well as love, comfort, security, and affection.
