There is no longer a need for public funding of radio. Further, it is apparent at this time that NPR is a front for liberal interests, including radical factions of the Democrat Party. It is inherently unfair to compel taxpayers, particularly in these difficult economic times, to subsidize political propaganda with which they may not agree, and which can be found in abundance in private media outlets. NPR's continued existence should now depend on the contributions of those political groups and special interests which benefit from, and actively solicit, NPR's support. NPR's treatment of Juan Williams was a national embarassment. If NPR's existence should cease for lack of taxpayer support, it would be in the nation's best interests.
