Comments: I wholeheartedly support the JPK Project and feel the decision by the council's planning committee to vote against this is purely forced by a few individuals. Families lives are at stake here and the sooner this is sorted out the better.

Comments: A desperately needed and worthwhile project. I cannot understand why the planning committee went against the recommendations of the Head of Planning and the Highway Authority. All the reasons given for turning down the planning application had already been met.

Comments: This is a much needed facility for people with learning disabilities later in their lives. Local residents will not be disadvantaged by the introduction of this housing and most recognize that the need for the provision of care for those unable to look after themselves is axiomatic in any civilized society. This should be achieved within the community and not be 'conveniently' thrust away into some dark corner.

Comments: I would like to register my support for this development which is desperately needed for people with learning disabilities. I am very disappointed to hear that Eastbourne Borough Council have not approved the plan submitted and have failed to commit themselves to helping some of the more vulnerable residents in their environs. I have been a resident in Eastbourne for nearly 40 years and am ashamed that this project is not proceeding with the full assistance and encouragement from EBC.

Comments: You have my whole hearted support for your laudable and very necessary project to provide accommodation and a future for those less fortunate than ourselves who through no fault of their own find themselves reliant on others. The hostile and very loud reaction of a few unenlightened local individuals to the proposed works scheme has included the aggressive use of misleading unattributable mail shots utilising the addresses of JPK supporters from the Eastbourne Borough Council website, the propagation of misinformation and a vitriolic and misleading letter campaign in the local press. Shame on you and the local politicians who gave you credence and voted against the planning application. I now hope for an impartial decision on behalf of the Planning Inspector based on the facts of the case and which validates the recommendation of the Council's professional planning officers.

Comments: This is an idea to be encouraged a real home for people less able to look after themselves. It saves the Council money for "residential" it has trustees and the people unable to provide a home for themselves have a way to access more encouragement and learning as they grow through life. The building has been designed in the best of taste and it is such a pity that people cannot understand the needs of our adults, which so easily could have been the needs of one of theirs. The parking issues are exaggerated and the point that the neighbours are making show just an extreme lack of compassion for those less fortunate than themselves. A severe case of Not In My Back Yard. This is a hard knock for JPK who have worked tirelessly for many years to secure a piece of land, this time with the Church on their side and a supermarket backing off to allow JPK to purchase but yet a few would be neighbours in the vicinity have taken it upon themselves to try to destroy these dreams probably having no idea of how difficult it is to procure accommodation from "The Powers that Be" and this in fact an idea that would empower a lot of worried parents who like myself is a single Mum and will have no-one to watch my son when I am no longer here. We worry constantly and if only these people knew what stress and hard work it is to keep a child who grows to adulthood with learning difficulties at home then maybe they would think differently. Shame on them. They will be accompanied at all times and are no threat to anybody. Shame on these people. I implore you to rethink your decision on this appeal.
