The Society for Humanistic Judaism offers a nontheistic secular alternative within Judaism.
Embracing a human-centered philosophy of life that combines the celebration of Jewish culture and identity with an adherence to humanistic values and ideas, the Society creates an inclusive, nurturing environment for families with children and empty nesters, pre-schoolers and teens, university students, young adults and seniors, single parents, intercultural families, and the GLBT community.
By organizing congregations and creating celebrations for Shabbat, Jewish holidays and life cycles, by providing a voice for Humanistic Jewish values, by publishing resources and educational materials, by offering adult and children's programs in communities and on campuses (see www.hujews.org), and by supporting the training of rabbis and leaders for Humanistic communities, the Society provides a meaningful Jewish alternative for cultural Jews.
