Comments: Attention: Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee Please accept this letter as a formal request to nominate Mr. John R. Brodie to the Pro Football Hall of Fame (Senior Category, Class of 2009). I am astonished to have just found out that John Brodie has not yet been enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. After having had this come to my attention recently, I felt that it was my duty to write a letter of nomination on his behalf. Mr. Brodie's 17 year career was entirely spent with the San Francisco 49ers and he played 201 games completing 2,469 passes for 31,548 yards and 214 touchdowns. His best season was his MVP campaign in 1970 where he completed 223 of 378 passes for 2,941 yards and 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. In 1965 Brodie threw for 3,112 yards and 30 touchdowns in 13 games. The selection of John Brodie into the Pro Football Hall of Fame would be a matter of honor to Mr. Brodie, his family and to all of his San Francisco 49er

Comments: JB should be considered for the Hall of Fame for oodles of reasons--but to have been the one person in 1970 to receive the MVP of the NFL award--how many NFL players can say they were the Most Valuable Player in the NFL I hope the committee considers selecting him to the Hall of Fame while he is alive---he deserves that.

Comments: As a 40 year professional football follower and 20 year Redskin 50 yard line ticket holder, I find in beyond understanding why John Brodie is not in enshrined in Canton. In the 60's, John Brodie was the epitome of what football on the west coast was all about. He was iconinc in his era; future generations should be able to see him in Canton as the roll model her was to the generation of coaches who developed the west coast offense. John was there before it became the rage. Let's get this done now.

Comments: Before the 49ers became the team of the 1980s, Brodie was one of the faces of the franchise. When John Brodie retired from the NFL, he ranked third in the NFL in career passing yards (behind Johnny Unitas and Fran Tarkenton. He deserves a place in the Hall, please give him the vote!
