Comments: I think it is really unfair to do this for us people on the shore the government funded jobs are all we have beisdes like the 10 spots at a supermarket or something. And some people need the jobs for school and such. It's very considerate! People in town can go to anystore they want and get a job and we have nothing!

Comments: I think it is horrible that the government cut out summer enployment opportunities for students. I was looking foward to receiving a job this summer, but due to this, I will more than likely NOT get one. It is very disappointing for me, as well as many other students across Canada!

Comments: The cost to go to College or University is very expensive, therefore students need a summer job to pay for their schooling. It is unfair to make a move like cutting summer jobs. Students feel like they are paying way to much money to go to school and some can hardly afford it, this is why summer jobs should never be cut, and there should be enough jobs for every student planning to do more with their future!

Comments: My Name is Lana Durnford and I am a grade 12 student on the southwest coast of Newfoundland. Here in my community we only have 4 student jobs, not even CLOSE to the number of students comming home from post secondary education or for those of us in high school. I know for a fact that these student jobs are important for helping pay for our education, but I dont think the government does...

Comments: Students need worthwhile work experience and the few dollars that come along with it. Non-profit groups need work done and give young people plenty of opportunity to take responsibilities in summer jobs. Its a win-win combination that in many cases helps generate more money for communities than it cost the government in the first place.

Comments: At a time when students are facing the highest tuition, a time when many students simply cannot afford to continue with their education, you have cut funding to programs that allows them to EARN money and gain experience in their future careers. Shame on you Mr. Harper. I hope this becomes an issue in the next election, there are a lot of recent university and college graduates on our voting list.

Comments: We already lose so many youth to Alberta and other provinces, this isn't going to help! The government should be trying their hardest to keep people in the province. This is rediculous. What if a student isn't sure what their future job is going to be These summer jobs offer experience and a chance to discover what interests you, not to mention they help pay for tuition!
