The Department of Education representatives have presented us with an ultimatum which is unacceptable to the parents as they seek to close the school. The Department of Education also have mentioned that they would transport its students to Overport in 2 buses. This idea is not accepted as it will cost around R 25 000. This money could be spent paying for rental for the school. The failure of the Department of Education has put lives of many children at stake. Eighty years of schooling history cannot just be buried. The children need your assistance. We would like to put a plea / defence to the Department of Education not to close the school. We need you to back the children with a letter of support against the closure.

FATIMA RAWAT, South Africa5 years ago Comments: I plea to the dept of education to keep this school running. We have lots of school children who depend on the convenience of this school as it is in central Durban. We cannot allow 80 years of history of this school to go down the drain. Also it is the only Department school in central Durban with an Islamic ethos with reasonable fees. Al other Islamic schools are private and the fees are exhorbitant for the middle to lower income group.
