How can they do this to us I live on Rock Road and believe that it will most certainly decrease the value of my property.....who wants to live with such an eyesore, how did they get permission to build this!!!!Flag

Name: DARREN & NADIA TOMKINS on Mar 10, 2007Comments: Having moved to royston, orchard way,in may 2005,it would appear to us(outsiders) from the amount of development that has taken place on this site since then, that Johnson Matthey have considerable sway over planning consents within royston. Not only do we now have to live with the latest eyesore, care of JM,but the traffic that passes my garden(adjacent to orchard road) is unbelievable most days, articulated lorry after articulated lorry using what is a residential road, more often than not speeding over the pathetic excuse for traffic calming measures that the council had installed last year.My recommendation is for all residents within a 1 mile perimeter of the JM site to ATTEMPT to sell up,and allow JM their unrestricted future expansion, which we have no doubt will be granted by North Herts council.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Mar 15, 2007Comments: For the good of Royston and it's residents, I hope the likes of Mr Thake are not re-elected - they very clearly do not give a stuff about the people who voted for them nor for the environment. The whole thing stinks nearly as much as the pollution JMs is being allowed to pump into the atmosphere. I am appalled by all who have had a hand in giving this the green light.Flag

Name: Nick White on Apr 15, 2007Comments: I read with amusement that Oliver Heald will be looking into this disaster for the local residents. This whole sorry mess was handled by a Tory run council. Do you really think he will bite the hand that feeds him The only way to have any effect is to take direct action against the town and district council officers. Blockade their meetings, blockade JM's and make as big a fuss as possible. I am going to make a supposition now, I would think rightly or wrongly that the largest majority in the area affected do not vote Tory (apologies if I am making assumptions). Would this development have gone ahead behind a row of house's in Heathfield Lets face facts the local and district council are a disaster for Royston. The town is dieing and they just keep banging the nails into the coffin.Flag

Name: Neil Lattimer on Apr 30, 2007Comments: This appalling piece of metalwork has devastated the neighbourhood. It is unbelievable that permission can be provided for something so close to peoples houses. Furthermore the affect this has had on my own and my neighbours enjoyment of the basic services provided by TV companies ie the now permanent interference to our TV signals even with Freeview is very irritating and as I have already gone to the expense of checking my cables and installing a new aerial equipment to no improvement I am certain where the problems have arisen. JM thanks a lot!Flag
