JM Eyesore

To, Johnson Matthey Directors and Councillors of Hertfordshire, If I was to write to you informing you of the behaviour of another individual who was responsible for defacing the landscape outside my window and creating a permanent eyesore, devaluing in no small way the property in the area, lighting bonfires daily, spoiling any chance of a nice day in the privacy of my own garden, due to smoke and fallout, I am convinced that you as a caring member of the community would like this individual hunted down and served with an ASBO order. Explain to me then the difference between imaginary delinquent and the actions of the planning department and Johnson Matthey What right has either of these organisations got to detract from my quality of life I am of course talking about the monstrosity that Johnson Matthey are building at the end of Rock Road, is it not enough that we daily have to put up with pollution that is constantly belching out of its chimneys, that I now have to put up with thousands of pounds being wiped off the value of my property due to the eyesore. I like many affected residents demand answers from the people responsible for giving life to this building, no more are we going to sit back and allow big business and councillors, who themselves I am sure, live in nice leafy backdrops miles away from this monster, to make decisions based solely on financial gain at such cost to the local residents. It is then our intention to encourage the residents of Royston to sign this petition demanding answers and compensation from the people responsible for the decision to allow the Johnson Matthey eyesores and pollutants to take over our town.

7 years ago Comments: This appalling piece of metalwork has devastated the neighbourhood. It is unbelievable that permission can be provided for something so close to peoples houses. Furthermore the affect this has had on my own and my neighbours enjoyment of the basic services provided by TV companies ie the now permanent interference to our TV signals even with Freeview is very irritating and as I have already gone to the expense of checking my cables and installing a new aerial equipment to no improvement I am certain where the problems have arisen. JM thanks a lot!

8 years ago Comments: I read with amusement that Oliver Heald will be looking into this disaster for the local residents. This whole sorry mess was handled by a Tory run council. Do you really think he will bite the hand that feeds him The only way to have any effect is to take direct action against the town and district council officers. Blockade their meetings, blockade JM's and make as big a fuss as possible. I am going to make a supposition now, I would think rightly or wrongly that the largest majority in the area affected do not vote Tory (apologies if I am making assumptions). Would this development have gone ahead behind a row of house's in Heathfield Lets face facts the local and district council are a disaster for Royston. The town is dieing and they just keep banging the nails into the coffin.
