Comments: "Sir" Jim is an absolute legend around Blackpool for being a true gentleman of the game. It's about time he is recognised for his services to the game, especially on the back of his recent illness that he has thankfully overcome. KNIGHT OUR JIMMY!!

Comments: The bloke is a legend. I never saw him play but playing just for England and Blackpool, and being such a good player at that, and then sharing his wealth of experience, the man is a true great.

Comments: Jimmy Armfield has done much for football both in Blackpool and in England. Also his work for charity is well known, not to mention his position as Deputy Leiutenant of Lancashire. An unblemished life both in Footaball and in his private life should earn him a knighthood.

Comments: A gentleman, a modest man who has done more for football than many of his forebears who have already been recognised. A truly fitting tribute to a deserving man affectionately loved, revered and respected. Please honour Jimmy Armfield with a knighthood.

Comments: Jimmy Armfield is quite possibly 'Mr Football'. As a Blackpool fan I would obviously have a bias, but having met the man in person, i can honestly say ive never met a more genuinely caring 'stranger'. Jimmy Armfield is long deserving of a Knighthood and would be the proudest man in Lancashire should it happen.

Comments: Anyone who speaks about Jimmy Armfield always say he is a gentleman. He was a one club player, voted the best fullback in the world in 1962, only an injury stopped him being captain and playing in the World Cup in 1966. Rise Sir James, those words would be most fitting.
