Comments: My husband, daughter and I were in the process of becoming members of UUCF only to recently find out that the main reason we were planning to join UUCF, (besides some of the wonderful services that are part of the congregation), the Rev. Jim Nelson, is being quietly asked to resign! I firmly believe that much of what makes congregation worth attending is Rev. Jim Nelson's sermons! My husband, Richard, and I look forward to his sermons every Sunday. If Jim is forced to leave the church, we will not proceed with the process of becoming members. We have attended this congregation for over a year now and find it absolutely preposterous that Jim is being asked to leave. He represents the majority of our congregations beliefs and philosophy. If he leaves, the congregation's entire community will be disturbed for the worse. The integrity of the church will be damaged. I am firmly opposed to move by disgruntled members of the congregation to dismiss Rev. Jim Nelson!

Comments: I hope that everyone will remember our first principle as we go through this process and affirm the inherant worth and dignity of every person. I heard slanderous and malicious comments at the forum, this is unacceptable behavior for our church.

Comments: Dear Friends, I am in full support of the petition requesting a "cooling off period". Ann and I wrote the board soon after hearing about the letter to Jim and expressed our displeasure for a seeming "fait accompli" even prior to Ed White's report being released. However, I have many close friends who signed this letter and have a lot of respect for them and their viewpoints. Jim has caused much damage among the many volunteers who work incredibly hard for this church and needs a firm "kick in the butt". I also hear that Judi may resign if Jim is not gone and this pains me very much. However, I don't go to this church for a lot of social stuff but to worship with and listen to Jim -- he has also been right there when we were in need. As the singer says : Be on my side, be on your side: there's no comfort, there is no place to hide! The long, painful ,dragged out, every one looking in the mirror approach to this is the only way to resolve this without splitting this congregation in two! Respectfully, Steve Simon member since 1992 multiyear usher, coffee maker lay service participant RE Teacher - two years Completed Copledge to 2001 Capital Campaign at the "Builders" level ( $10,000 or more)

Comments: Thanks for your post. I also think that laptop computers have become more and more popular currently, and now are usually the only sort of computer used in a household. It is because at the same time that they're becoming more and more very affordable, their processing power keeps growing to the point where they may be as strong as desktop out of just a few years ago.
