We the undersigned write to inform the Government of the District of Columbia that the proposed use of JF Cook School, 30 P Street, NW as a charter school with residential units and social services is inconsistent with the interests and purposes expressed by the residents of the surrounding neighborhoods of Truxton Circle, Eckington, Hanover, Dunbar-Shaw and Bloomingdale, all in close proximity to Cook School. We the residents of these neighborhoods informed government officials of our desire to use the former school building as a community arts facility with retail or elementary education programs with library.
