| 151 | Robert J. Nebel | While I might disagree with certain points in his latest book, President Carter did not deserve the treatment he received. It has been a total intellectual lynching. |
| 152 | Janaki Kuruppu | I listened to an interview with Jimmy Carter on the PRI program, Speaking of Faith (aired April 26, 2007), and I was so moved by his clarity of vision, and his compassion, and also by how much many of the ways that he spoke about his belief in the Divine resonated with the way I, as a Jew, view HaShem - and I shared the podcast link with my synagogue listserv. You can imagine, I'm sure, the vehement rhetoric and invective that came my way for promoting and sharing the program. I was quite astonished (but sadly, not very surprised) at the level of bias and closed-mindedness there exists among my friends and fellow-congregants.
I wholeheartedly support this petition, and hope that more people can look beyond slogans and sound-bites, and really listen to one another. Otherwise, there is no hope for peace in this world. |

| 156 | delusional liberal | And what exactly will Israel receive in exchange? More homocide bombers? A neighboring state that abuses its own people? A neighbor that has added nothing to the world but violence and terror? My guess is that you also adore Castro, Chavez, Putin,
and other strongmen "of the people". I suggest that you all donate all of your money to the palestinians ( a made-up term for arabian nomads who never observed borders prior to the anglo-franco subdivision of the mid-east ), so they can funnel the funds to terrorists who want to eliminate all Jews and westerners. Get off the personal guilt trips and grow up. |

| 164 | Glen Whitener | Congratulations on this most responsible and anti-authoritarian response to those who would prohibit open discourse on vital topics such as contained in President Carter's book. Thanks. |
