Jax Historic was created for the home owners of Jacksonville Florida to express their feeling and concerns regarding the inconsistent home remodeling and renovation guidelines enforced by Riverside Avondale Preservation (RAP) and the Jacksonville Historic Division of planning and development. We believe that guidelines should be enforced, but only if they are clearly outlined and available on demand. These rules and guidelines should also be consistent when applied to your home or your neighbor's home. We believe that RAP and the Jacksonville division of planning and development have frequently exhibited contrary and hostile behavior when enforcing these guidelines. This does not encourage collaboration among the homeowners of Riverside and Avondale; which we believe are important contributors to the reason that these are GREAT NEIGHBORHOODS. RAP nor the city of Jacksonville employees are the sole reason these neighborhoods continue to thrive.
