Canada Blooms is a group of professionals, companies and associates of Landscape Ontario, and they have offered the city of Toronto $300 000 in workmanship, materials and labour in order to rebuild the Jamie Bell castle, and to expand the playground. Using their expertise, the community would be given the opportunity to have a beautiful, interactive, educational natural playground, which would be designed by experts collaborating with the community, turning it into a phenomenal natural playground that would complement the natural heritage of High Park, connecting children to nature and their community. Without help, the City of Toronto cannot afford to repair the damage done by the fire set earlier this month, and yet on March 30, 2012 the City rejected the offer to make this project a reality by this summer. Given the nature of their work, this offer is time-sensitive and cannot be delayed. Design had already begun and this talented team was ready to begin the project, already receiving considerable input from the community. Now the City is preventing them from giving this tremendous gift to the community, which would benefit so many children. Please let the City know that you want Canada Blooms to be able to move forward with this project!
