James Wan, the director behind masterpieces such as Saw, Insidious, and The Conjuring, as well as Dead Silence, Death Sentence, and Insidious: Chapter 2, recently announced that he is finished making horror movies. While we in the horror community wish Mr. Wan the best of luck in the rest of his filmmaking career, we'd be devastated if he was truly finished with scary movies. He is one of the few filmmakers who still makes high-quality and genuinely scary horror movies.
It is generally agreed that Saw is one of the most disturbing movies of all time. Not because of gore (minimal amount in 1st one), but because of the masterful way the story was told. Insidious was a wildly original and scary movie, while still paying homage to classics such as Poltergeist. And topping it off is this year's "The Conjuring," which is currently rated at 86% positive on RottenTomatoes, which is almost unheard of for a horror film.
MR. WAN, WE ARE BEGGING YOU TO STAY! There are so many great horror stories to be told, and you are quite simply the best one to tell them. Best of luck with Fast & Furious 7, and I hope to see your name attached to horror movies again soon!
