this petition is for the public to sign, asking the Jamaican Observer newspaper to apologize to the Jamaican bobsled team for their negative headline on Monday February 17, 2014 which read "US skating pair break world record, Jamaican bobsledders flop". For the Observer to headline a story in such a demoralizing way, neglecting to acknowledge the amazing feat of a Jamaican team qualifying in a winter sport and inspiring the world and Jamaicans, is totally unacceptable. It is absolutely out of sync with the how the rest of the world, and Jamaican people in general think about the achievements of the team. The Jamaican bobsled team is loved and respected worldwide, has promoted Jamaica on a grand scale, and shown so many, that you can do anything in this world, if you try hard enough and want it. This petition will be sent to the Observer asking for a formal written apology to the team for the negative and untimely headline.
