16 Monica CokeIn terms of this petition, I sign it. because the EPA, in my personal opinion, was rushed at the end in order to meet the deadline and I do think the Caribbean was put under pressure by the Europeans. The question is whether a better deal could have been negotiated - I think, with more time it could have been. Signing the petition might lead to more discussion taking place in a less pressured and more transparent manner.

30 Andrea ScarlettThis is a matter of very grave concern to me and should be for every Jamaican who wants to ensure that we do not sign away our prospects for future development. We have seen the handy works of trade agreements such as NAFTA and others, that appear so frilly initially only to rob small economies of their hope to develop. We must bring to the attention of our leaders, the truth that we must say no until we can say yes. When will we be able to say yes?...When the conditions favour our people and not the oppressors.

33 Anonymous"No longer are the plantations in this region owned by the Europeans"... as such, their interest is not "us", their interest is not the Caribbean people. Quite frankly, i totally understand; but we need to become lackies to a forced system of governance. Select what makes sense out of what may seem like non-sense.
34 P. Anthony GrahamWho don't know that the architect / bearer of these agreements are children of slave masters and that their main objective is to continue the exploitation of the poor are not aware of our history. NEVER AGAIN will they exploit us to give their little offspring milk and honey and ours bitter grapefruit.

37 Facilitators For a Better JamaicaFrom the word " Go" there is yet again another venture being signed off without proper consultation with, and education of, those that are mostly and directly going to be affected. In London recently the Jamaican PM said amidst the grumblings and negative factors they had to make a call in going along with the EPA...we believe that is wrong. The EPA at the end of day may be good but at present there are tides going against this signing and why the rush...

48 Cordella KingOur Leaders in the Caribbean should not be signing anything that is not fully in the interest of the region on a whole. Neither should they be bullied into doing so by the richer nations in the north.
