THE COUNCIL FINALLY LISTENED AND 16+ GIGS ARE OFFICIALLY BACK AT THE JAILHOUSE!! THANK YOU TO EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO HELPED US PROVE THAT LOCAL MUSIC BELONGS TO EVERYONE!! NOW LET US KEEP SHOWING UP TO THESE SHOWS AND PROVING WE CAN HANDLE THE RESPONSIBILITY RESPONSIBLY!!
In January 2008, The Jailhouse was advised by Herefordshire Council to stop doing 16+ gigs as it \'promoted underage drinking\'. Venues in big cities up and down the country are able to do 16+ gigs (some even do 14+ or all ages) so why not here
With the likes of Los Campesinos, The Young Knives, Hot Chip, iForward Russia! and many more due to grace The Jailhouse stage in the coming months, it\'s time to ensure that our city\'s younger music fans are able to enjoy it.
Please sign this petition, and forward it to your friends. It will then be taken to the council\'s licencing department, along with a gaurantee that everyone will be ID\'d coming in to the club, and different coloured wristbands issued to under 18\'s to prevent them drinking, and over 18\'s only be allowed to purchase one drink at a time - the same system used nationwide.
Let\'s get this sorted!
I just want to see live music without my parents dragging me along to an over 18s night or having to miss out altogether.

The club is missing out on so much money and we are missing out on the music. Fix this now.

Ridiculous that we have to travel to Birmingham just to see a decent band. Let us in!

If other cities can handle 16+ gigs then why is Hereford so backwards? Sort it out.

Really unfair that there is literally nothing for teenagers to do in this town. Please let them play.
