The petition

As mountaineer fans we are petitioning the athletic department at West Virginia University to formally dedicate the press box at Milan Puskar Stadium in honor of the longtime "Voice of the Mountaineers" Jack Fleming. His ability to ‘paint a picture’ for the loyal listeners and supporters of West Virginia University athletic competition is unmatched. It is this ability, along with his dedication, and love for WVU that helped to build the foundation of a strong and passionate fan base that continues to support the Mountaineers to this day.

We feel it is time that Jack is honored for his contributions to the university and we feel this would be a fitting tribute to a man who means so much to the fans, our great state, the alumni, the student body, the history, and the entire entity of West Virginia University.

We would like to have the press box formally dedicated to Jack with members of his family present, to have his name enshrined on the outside of the press box, and to have a video/audio tribute to him before a WVU home football game.

Jack dedicated himself, his heart, and his soul for the better part of 50 years to West Virginia University and it is long past due that he is properly honored for all of his contributions.

Let’s bring Jack home!

Sincerely,

Jamie Clegg
Durham, NC
