The Incarcerated Youth Program was established over ten years ago to provide instruction to juveniles incarcerated at the DC Jail. This petition serves as notice to change the current name to the Inspiring Youth Program. Perception is everything even when it comes to words. When you hear the word incarcerated, yes the first thing you think of is jail and not a school. Yes, our students are confined to jail however the minds of these individuals are not.
