PETITION
ON NOVEMBER THE 10th. 2012 IT WAS PUBLISHED ON Siddeeq.com THAT THERE IS A LEGAL EFFORT IN THE CHANCERY COURT OF COOK COUNTY CHICAGO ILLINOIS TO PERSONALLY OWN, CONTROL AND PROFIT FROM THE LIFE WORKS OF IMAM W. D. MOHAMMED. TO SUPPORT THIS CLAIM WE HAVE POSTED ON THAT SITE THE ORIGINAL COMPLAINT FILED IN THE COURT BY WALLACE II (“MUHAMMED”?) (Amended copies and their legal responses will also be published on Siddeeq.com in the very near future as well as any updates to this case)
The Court complaint by Wallace’s attorney, being paid by The Mosque Cares money, essentially argues that every thing that Imam Mohammed ever said or did in his life belongs exclusively to Wallace II and no one else. He is telling the Courts that it ALL BELONGS TO HIM AND ONLY HIM TO SELL, CONTROL, LIMIT OR DO WHATEVER HE SO PLEASES WITH IT.
Even as this case is being litigated by the courts it has been reported by respectable members of this community that Wallace has copyrighted Imam Mohammed’s name and has used heavy handed tactics against innocent Muslims in attempt to limit their access to Imam Mohammed’s life’s work and/or extract a fee for their usage. He is presently attempting to personally control who can and who cannot use Imam Mohammed’s name or image and to personally profit financially from his unauthorized, secret misappropriation of community property. (He has never mentioned or discussed any of this on first Sunday, during Ramadan Sessions, Conventions, Saviours day, or in the Muslim Journal. Why not?)
The signing of my name on this petition is to say that I support what Imam Mohammed’s wife, Khadijah Siddeeq Mohammed wrote on December 1st. 2012 on Siddeeq.com concerning this matter (see below).
"With The Name of Allah, The Merciful Benefactor, The Merciful Redeemer
Imam Mohammed’s words define our community and the community must have undeniable access to them without having to ask permission first.
Imam Mohammed’s works are not primarily a means to make money. They are a means with which to sustain the life in our community and give or sustain life in other communities.
One very important reason the community must have unimpeded access to his works is that Imam Mohammed’s words DEFINE our community. Think about it. We call ourselves ‘the community of Imam W.D. Mohammed’. We didn’t follow a person just to follow a person. We followed a logic and an understanding that we found in his teachings.
Thus it is only appropriate that we see his works as belonging to the community and not to any individual."
