Cellular phone has become as common as a toothbrush. A good majority of Indian population come under its usage. But the big question is "are we protected"? Are the rights of mobile phone consumers protected?

The Consumer movement was started in the US. This gained popularity in India and in mid 1980's Consumer Courts were established in India after the enactment of the Consumer Protection Act. 

But it is very sad to note that MOBILE PHONES DO NOT COME UNDER THE PURVIEW OF CONSUMER PROTECTION. About half of the Indian population who use mobile phones are not considered consumers and are left open to the atrocities of the illegal acts committed by mobile companies.
