Reading both Charlotte.com and The Charlotte Observer it has come to my attention that many universities are represented from North Carolina and the areas around the state of North Carolina. I feel a large and respectable NC University receives poor coverage and no real interest by many of your writers and staff. East Carolina University is the 3rd largest university in the State in which Charlotte.com and The Charlotte Observer represent yet if you scour or search these publications that you will see they are one of the least covered universities in athletics and all aspects of journalism. Typical coverage is only generated when we play other regional schools who are covered much more frequently and adequately. By signing this petition I will boycott both Charlotte.com and The Charlotte Observer and will make an effort to avoid major advertisers in these publications. My signature also illustrates my desire to see a concerted effort to recognize East Carolina in both Charlotte.com and The Charlotte Observer. Nothing would make me happier as a member of this petition than to see no need for it in the future as coverage becomes more acceptable. Lastly, I sign this so you will know I am fan of ECU and we are prevalent in your area.

Barry Garrison, United States6 years ago Comments: My information is that we have 4,000+ ECU alumni in the Charlotte area. This, coupled with the newly created ECU Dental School, 18 Doctoral programs, and the new Engineering Department, should make for a lot more interest in ECU than we have seen portrayed in the Observer. Thank you in advance for doing a better job on our behalf.
