Name: David Evans on Sep 5, 2007Comments: I'm both a huge apple supporter (and unofficial salesperson) as well as a stockholder. I was an early adopter of the Iphone, Mac Pro and PowerBook G4. Not only have I converted many PC users to macofiles, but I've also encouraged many people to become investors. I'm incredibly dissapointed by the sharp increase as a consumer because it has made me feel like, for the first time, Apple has turned it's back on it's biggest supporters. I can not go around praising this company any more, unless they can make good on what seems like a foolish PR mistake.Flag

Name: George Davila on Sep 5, 2007Comments: advertising a product as a steal for 599, and with in two months cutting the price by 1/3 is absolutely ridiculous. This product was never worth the 600 i paid along with many others. I, and many other people will remember this when any new product is launched.Flag

Name: Jamey Jensen on Sep 5, 2007Comments: Apple has never had a price increase this drastic this soon after a product launch. I feel cheated. AT&T refuses to help. Apple refuses to help. I have been an AT&T customer for years from AT&T to Cingular and back to AT&T. I have always liked my service with them. Now...I'm not so sure.Flag

Name: Lisa Howell on Sep 5, 2007Comments: I bought the 4 gb model in July for my daughters' 16th birthday, begrudgingly ( I only went in wanting to spend up to $150). She wanted it so badly, she was willing to pay the difference to me with birthday money and work money from her new job. She is still paying it off and now come to find out she could have gotten the 8gb model for the same price. I would like to see either an option to upgrade to the 8 gb or some kind of compensation.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Sep 5, 2007Comments: I love to view Apple events and I love when Apple releases products that change the game for technology. Steve Jobs' presentation for the iPods and iTunes could not have been better. I thoroughly enjoyed his keynote. That is, until he announced to everyone in the audience that he was going to be aggressive this holiday season and slash the cost of the iPhone by $200. I went from 1 hour and 10 minutes of elation, to 10 minutes of utter disdain, embarassment, and feelings of violation. What hurts the most is, I'm usually good about knowing release schedules for their products and anticipate the fact that there is a refresh of their product line at the very least 6 months. If Steve wanted to be aggressive on price for the iPhone, why didn't he do it 2 months ago Despite what he thinks (and don't get me wrong, I've always been a big fan of Steve Jobs), it is not a privilege to know you got suckered into buying a device everyone can have now for $200 less. Now the same people I have had to fend off when I was asked, "why are you buying such an expensive phone", will now have the opportunity to gloat and rip all types of new holes in me as they use their new more affordable iPhones. Is this what we get for saving our hard earned money, standing on lines for hours, and going through the initial buggy process of signing with AT&T Come on Steve, you can't leave us early adopters hanging like this.Flag

But now, I'm so angry that I'll never buy another new Apple product. Might as well wait and buy used, let someone else take the 30% depreciation in the first 10 weeks.Flag

Name: Mike G on Sep 5, 2007Comments: As this was my first purchase of an Apple product, I had high expectations. I love the iPhone, but what happened today really puts a sour taste in my mouth. I'm an avid photographer and had considered moving away from the Windows environment I grew up on. No way, no how after today. Sorry, you had your chance to possibly gain a customer for life. You burned me once, so shame on you. No chance that I'll let myself be burned twice.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Sep 5, 2007Comments: Reducing the cost of the iPhone by 1/3 in a little over two months (after Apple has sold up to 1 million units) without changing or upgrading the unit, or offering compensation to those who recently purchased the product (store credit, 10% off next order, rebate, etc.) is not illegal, but by doing so Apple has offended those faithful who took a chance on an unproven (but expensive) product and helped launch a new generation of hardware. To me this is much more offensive and annoying than the fact that the first iPhone I purchased was defective and it took several trips to the Apple Store for a new handset to be issued. The fact that Apple's share price fell more than 5% on a day when a slew of new and innovative products were introduced may reflect a loss of faith from investors...or just karma.Flag
