Anonymous | Ridiculous pricing, I certainly won't buy one here. If I buy one it will be from overseas. Vodafone is a rip off!!
Jason Teale | Absolute ripp-off! I was waiting with anticipation after Apple announced they'd be selling for US$199. But only to find out the that $549 is what we'd be paying on the $80 a month plan is very dissappointing. I'll wait another couple of years before even looking for again I think.

Anonymous | Doesn't surprise me that Vodafone would rip customers' off - being a previous employee I know exactly how VF are driven, purely by MONEY MONEY MONEY, forgetting about the loyalty that customers' have for VF.
Mark Craven | These are a joke we are being shafted.
Pete Nicholls |
Anonymous | Vodafone suck

Joseph Kelly | These prices are a rip off. Lets get into line with the rest of the developed world, we're in serious danger of becoming a techno ghetto if new technologies continue to be so over priced!
Liam Snell | I agree! The plan prices are ludacris! They need to lower the costs so the average NZer can afford to buy one!
Rachel Norris | vodafone sucks!
Anonymous | I think they are so dishonest to say it was going to be well priced and then come out with these ridiculous prices is just stupid. Why shpould anyone support them - I hope there is hardly anyone at the stores on Friday am
Ken Heaton | Apple has given Vodafone an opportunity to really move the market and change the game. What a dismal marketing effort by Vodafone. Unworthy. The iphone thrilling - the plan billing, not.
Anonymous | Vodafone not Apple are the thieves. This just proves how ridiculous NZ data and mobile call costs are. I've gone from a 'probable' buyer, to 'not a chance'. I predict the stores will be virtually empty come Friday. Vodafone, you've missed a tremendous opportunity here.
Anonymous | Totally outrageous ... Way to ruin a great product Vodafone... what a terrible shame!
Anonymous | They'll be a long way off their target sales for the iPhone now. Serves them right for being downright greedy.
kody | gg vodafone you money hungry fucks.
James | No surprise! Only idiots will buy it.
Anonymous | $6200 on a 2 year plan to get it for "$199"? Is that really what The Steve had in mind!? What a rort!
Anonymous | i cannot believe vodafone is doing this, what a rip off
GeekPT | Way to go Vodafone....NOT! You've missed the biggest boat this Country has ever seen in the telecommunications Market. The interest this revolutionary device has generated was unbelievable - A key indicator was the traffic to your website which killed it. You wasted the a perfect opportunity to capture a major chunk of the Mobile Network instead you've made a lot of people angry with the monopolistic pricing plans! Shame on you!!!!

Peter Woollett | Vodaphone NZ have completely missed the point of the whole iPhone/iPod/Mac model. The pricing should be easily affordable, simple to understand and set to make the phone available to everyone. Something like $NZ 350 for the phone on a 2 year contract plus $50 per month unlimited data and say 25c / min peak calls and 200 min off peak free. The idea is to make it available to everyone. Charging per meg is theft.
Darryn Mercer | At these prices, I would regard the iPhone as not for sale in New Zealand, as no reasonable person would be able to buy one.
Richard |
Richard Donald | Way too much

Anonymous | Can't use it on PrePay after paying $999! CRAZY!! Hopefully hackers will crack this soon..
Anonymous |
Kristy Atkinson | this is RIDICULOUS! i cannt believe the plan pricing! what a flippin monopoly!
Matt Murray | It's one way for Vodafone to cash in on the missing GP not offered from Renaissance or Apple. You guys are pathetic for having pricing this rediculous. Know wonder O2 has it in the UK (unlimited data plans)
Anonymous |
Zack | It's bout US$199 for the phone and only about US$25/month for 1,000 minutes and 300MB of data in Hongkong
rose | it's already hard enough to pay for food & petrol, let alone rent, mortgages, you got to be out of your f**ken mind to charge that much for a stupid phone that is over rated!!!
Scott Peterson | These prices are the highest in the world, by a considerable margin. This doesn't even make good business sense.
Anonymous | I was going to buy on to replace my ph that is nearly had it. But at that price and plans NO WAY
Anonymous | Way too over priced - how do they expect people to afford this? Especially younger people and students, on what we earn we can't pay $80 a month!!! Ridiculous.
Anonymous | Far to expensive!!
Kieran Stuart | Outrageous
Cris Kiri |
Andy Wilson | Great looking phone, but on those prices, esp the small size data plans, no thanks!
| 248 | Anonymous | for $250 a month over two years I can get a nice second hand car.
I can't wait for telecome to give us another option. |
| 249 | Anonymous | Data charges whether they are for home broadband or on your cellphone are absolutely astronomical in New Zealand.
I think whoever sets the pricing are a bunch of greedy fuk's who discourage and in some cases deny New Zealanders the privilege of modern communication.
We can even take this back as far as complaining about 20c for a text message!!
The problem with telecommunications companies in New Zealand is that they focus on making extremely high profits while pricing their customers out of the market. It makes no sense.
Drop the prices now. |
