Comments: I have, from the beginning, been a supporter of the bottle bill and its outcomes. This is a necessary part of keeping the system flowing for mineral recycling and keeping our natural environment uncluttered and clean. There is no reason to believe that there is a health hazard to having the cans and bottles returned to the super markets. This arguement has been developed as an emotional ploy.

Comments: The stores profit from selling the beverages, they should also be willing to help clean up the litter from the products. This is a bill that saves money in the long run because it cuts down on roadside litter. It is disgusting to drive through states with no bottle and can law and see all the containers left in rest areas, in ditches and everywhere else. I am old enough to remember what our hiways looked like before the bottle bill and it would be a real shame to go back to that. Even 2 or 3 cents for a handling fee is a bargain compared to the amount of money it would take to keep our roadways and parks clean if the redemption centers are changed and no longer so convenient.

Comments: I support the bottle bill and recycling! As a native Texan, Iowa's bottle bill is key to keeping us from looking like the roadways of Texas! I would endorse an added charge to allow stores more income if necessary!
