Comments: I think it the grocers have forgotten we are the customers. Since the grocery stores claim that the cans are a cleanliness and health issue I guess I should stop using the dry cleaning service they offer since I have taken blood stained and soiled clothing into the store for cleaning, but the grocers don't think that is a problem. Keep Iowa clean and redemption conenient. Make it manditory if you sell it you must take it back

Comments: I coordinate a Community Service Program for juveniles through Juvenile Court Services. I am contacted by residents, City Departments, Chamber, and Sioux City Police to mention a few, all requesting assistance in picking up littered sites. The past few years we have conducted our own litter surveys and find that bottles and soda cans are never among the debris. In addition, I have a 14 year old grandson who weighs 75 pounds, due primarily to cystic fibrosis. He collects from friends and relatives their deposit bottles and cans for return. He appreciates the opportunity to earn a little extra cash and will be accompanying me to California for vacation over his Christmas break. Aside from his allowance at his size he has little opportunity to earn money. Last, but not least important, I witness many people, prior to trash picks, scouring over the garbage of others looking for cans and bottles. It is not an uncommom site to see someone walking along with a plastic bag half filled with cans and bottles. One last thing, every step taken to increase these small but vital means of support for people is important to them, the envirnment, and generations of grandchildren to come. Thank you for your consideration to this bill.

Comments: I expect businesses to do their part to recycle as they make too much money selling sugar and water to an obese population.

Comments: I would love to see all beverage bottles included in the bottle bill. If we have to increase the deposit and give grocery stores a few more cents to make it worth their time and effort and keep them happy, then we should do it.

Comments: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. System works well, grocery stores don't have to take back dirty cans, they can have guidelines. It is NOT a major health issue as they claim.

Comments: We need to keep one of the best conservation measures Iowa has. Grocers are using health as an excuse to get rid of an economic burden. Profits are their motives. If they don't want the bottles and cans, they should pay 100% for convenient collection centers, as well as the promotion that will need to happen so people keep up their good habits of returning containers.
