Martin Williams | I whole heartedly give my support as a son of Gwynedd and Wales to the rejection of the investiture of a foreign prince on the land of the Cymru. I would hope that any English prince would also view an investiture as a disgrace to their name in this day and age of reconciliation, and a violation both of British democracy and the indigenous rights of Welsh people.

Vaughan Evans | This is an outdated and unecessary practice that has no place in modern society. It has connotations with the past that belittle the Welsh nation.

Anonymous | He shouldnt be prince of Wales if he wont spend any time in Wales and wont even learn welsh - he is an englishman not welsh!
adrian roper | It is insulting to Wales to have as its 'Prince' someone who neither speaks Welsh or resides in Wales. The role of Prince (or Princess) of Wales should be honoured as the pinnacle of Welsh society. Instead it is just a stop-gap title whilst the incumbent awaits England's call. Let's have a proper Prince - a Welsh Prince - or none at all.

Daniel Pryce Lawrence | The monarchy is undemocratic, unfair and symbolizes a past that many of us wish to leave behind. In Wales anyone who knows the history of why we have a prince of Wales in the first place should be ashamed to accept this situation. We the people who should be sovereign, have no choice over who represents us around the world.
Dave Sharp | I am ½ Scottish, ½ English, living in Wales. But I have been a republican all my life and am pro-independence for both Wales and Scotland. I see the continuation of the monarchy and its attendant paraphernalia as anachronistic in the extreme. I particularly see a 'prince' of Wales from a foreign land as a continuation of its original concept - to humiliate and perpetuate the idea that Wales is somehow subservient. It is not and no investiture sends the message that that perceived status must end and the sooner the better.
