SAVE INVERCLYDE CENTRAL LIBRARY
Inverclyde council has decided to close Inverclyde's Central Library building in Greenock and move the library to a "new" building in Wallace Place. This new building will be much smaller than the vacated Central Library. The old library is to be turned into offices at an estimated cost of £3.6 million. The reasons cited for this move being necessary is that the current library building is not accessible enough for disabled people. The building's accessibility shortcomings could be overcome, particularly if you consider it will need to be made accessible by law for workers to use as offices. This money would be better spent improving the current purpose built library and preserving it for everyone to use. Please sign the petition.
