Name: Sami Karjalainen on Dec 15, 2006Comments: Perth has been off the radar for progressive technology development for far too long. Many of us with the required skills either have to move interstate, away from friends and family, or simply accept that we cannot achieve our dreams and stay. Interzone should be provided all assistance in this matter due to their progressive attitude (in wishing to setup shop in Perth).Flag

Name: Stephen Price on Dec 15, 2006Comments: This is a huge opportunity that shouldn't be let go! Interzone games were deciding between Perth or Melbourne on where to set up shop. Perth is the best choice!! Perth could be put on the map in the gaming industry with moves like this. Please support Interzone. regards, Stephen Price .Net DeveloperFlag

Name: Lindsey Crowe on Dec 15, 2006Comments: We seriously need this. Being in the Games Technology degree at Murdoch University there really was nowhere to go without moving over East. I got lucky getting a job here making Simulations but there aren't nearly enough jobs in the Simulation/Games industry in Perth to support those qualified. Interzone coming to Perth would fix a hell of a lot of that and really put WA on the Games Production map.Flag

Name: Jack Casey on Dec 15, 2006Comments: Games are serious business! Attracting developers such as Interzone Games to set up in Perth benefits not only those who are seeking employment in this field (and who often have to move over east or overseas to pursue it) but it benefits the whole state with regard to finally getting a foothold in this lucrative industry.Flag

Name: Simon Boxer on Dec 15, 2006Comments: I can't stress how much Perth NEEDS this. Perth is completely barren of any large scale development in this field, and it's a booming industry! Not only would Interzone Games put Perth on the map, but it would provide valuable employment opportunities in the future, encourage other game development ventures, and also encourage an extremely overdue training system for this field. We literally have nothing of true, professional standard at the moment, and there is so much young potential without any guidance. This would open so many doors for Perth based citizens, who would currently need to travel to the east coast, or even better - USA, to get a decent education in this field. Let Interzone in!Flag

Name: Nick Lowe on Dec 15, 2006Comments: The State Government is sitting on an enormous and unique opportunity to establish a new major industry in Western Australia: Video Game Development. According to the GDAA Game Developers' Association of Australia, Australian game developers create over $100 million worth of games each year. This is without taking into account ancillary businesses and the flow-on effect to other local industries. Moreover, it is a fraction of the $825 million local market for video games, and a minute fraction of the $40 billion international market. There is tremendous room for growth and Western Australia is perfectly poised to enter this area.Flag

Name: Minh Tran on Dec 15, 2006Comments: Since arriving in Perth, Interzone have worked tirelessly to engage the local gaming industry. They have approached UWA, Curtin, ECU and Murdoch universities, presented at SIGGRAPH Perth and IGDA events, supported Massive06 and will contribute to Nullabor07. Their continued efforts are a shining example of their commitment to setting up in Perth. If Interzone can set up here, Perth will be able to finally tap into a profitable and expanding market steered by well-experienced and determined people.Flag

I (as a Murdoch student) was a) excited to hear the news a dev company were considering coming to Perth, b) more so excited when i heard it was for MMO dev, and c) enjoyed the presentation they gave us students on campus. If it dont make dollars it dont make sense, I understand that, but if its red-tape, dont let that hinder future Perth computer gaming software developement regrads LMFlag
