Please consider signing this petition to help create an INTERNATIONAL FORGIVENESS DAY! Pamela Gregory, a friend who has a group on Facebook called “Forgiveness Healing” http://groups.to/forgiveness sent the message below. Pamela has recently joined forces with Worldwide Forgiveness Alliance, http://forgivenessalliance.org to help make International Forgiveness Day a reality! Hello Everyone, Though many religions throughout the world teach the importance of forgiveness, wouldn’t EVERYONE, regardless of religion, culture, or nationality, benefit a great deal in taking part in International Forgiveness Day Lalit Mawkin gave me this wonderful idea when he mentioned that Jainism has celebrated Kshamavaani Divas (The Day of Forgiveness) for over 2,500 years without ever missing a year. On this day, you ask your spouse, children, parents, bosses, colleagues, subordinates, neighbors, etc., for forgiveness and offer forgiveness in return. Lalit said, “We all keep living this mad race and it is true that we get hurt and also hurt others by our remarks, tantrums etc. We have Father's Day and Mother's Day, so let there be a day to forgive!" Imagine the positive and healing impact each of us would achieve in knowing we could have a clean slate with those we cherish most! We are so passionate about creating this day because it will generate a worldwide conversation about forgiveness, allowing more people to understand how healing this can be. So my loving friends, if you would like to help make International Forgiveness Day a reality, please sign and forward this petition to all your friends, contacts, and groups, and ask them to do the same. The ripple effect will be absolutely tremendous! I have no doubt that TOGETHER we can make Forgiveness Day, a day that will benefit all of us, for many generations to come. Peace, Love and Gratitude~ Pamela http://PamelaGregory.com Note: August 2, 2009 is Forgiveness Day with Worldwide Forgiveness Alliance in San Rafael, CA. I hope you'll celebrate with us in person or in spirit, and choose to forgive...
