Would You Like To See a Community Garden in Your Area?
This petition was made to determine whether there is an acceptable amount of support to initiate a community garden in your area.
We will be analyzing the feedback and determining which area is most motivated to operate and get the rewarding gift of a community garden before we decide on where we will make this dream happen.
The key to community gardening is (you guessed it!) COMMUNITY involvement. Our goal is to find the area most willing to make it happen and support and facilitate that goal of having a garden in their community that anyone is welcome to help in, and that will go towards either forming a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) group, where the members agree to accept the risks and rewards evenly within membership, or to donate the proceeds to charity in some form or another. These details will be handled when the proper time comes, and the needed support has been shown.
Community gardens are growing in popularity and number all over the United States. The basis for their benefits include:
- Additional food availability, and savings from groceries
- Community cohesion, activities, support and an enriched spirit of pride for your area.
- Spreading the basic survival knowledge of farming and organization to youngsters or those who never had the opportunity to learn such traits.
- Healthier living via sunshine, light labor, fresh air and organic produce.
- Restoration and regeneration of soil previously unused or unkempt via biological interaction and production.
