Intel is the world's leading computer chip manufacturer. They control 70% of the computer parts industry. Intel ships are in almost every computer in the world, and their technology has lead to developments of the most recent, fastest chipsets in the computer parts industry. However, with such development comes a huge cost. A human cost. In developing the chipsets, Intel has committed several errors in worker safety, environmental safety and human rights abuses. Workers contract diseases in the factories from fine silica dust. Toxic chemicals are released as a byproduct of production. And they use coltan - a mineral mined through hard manual labor by underpaid workers in the DRC. This petition aims to put a stop to all of this by: -Promoting worker safety in Intel factories -Promoting better environmental standards and waste disposal from factories -Promoting coltan sourced from countries where working standards are better, such as Australia, Brazil and Canada.
