Name: Michael Ranson on Dec 8, 2009Comments: Congestion problem would not exist if: 1) Chell Road were turned into the main carpark and the Chell Road route went through the existing carpark around the back of Sainsburys (eliminating the 3 sets pedestrian lights that are the main problem) 2) All lights around roundabouts were part time and only used when heavy congestion existed. 3) Zebra Crossings with central islands replace all Pelican Crossings. 4) Roundabouts replace the lights at Tescos and West Way on the Newport Road.Flag

Name: R.O.Foulkes on Dec 8, 2009Comments: I am opposed to the proposal on the grounds that 1) a bypass on the western side of Stafford is unnecessary and will serve simply to increase traffic congestion on roads serving the.town centre. 2)It will result in development of the Greenfield area known locally as Castlefields, thus robbing Stafford people of the only accessible recreational land within walking distance of a significant section of the population (aprox 15,000) on the west side of Stafford.Flag

Staffordshire County Council is committed to similar action by the Staffordshire Declaration on Climate Change. Further road-building is a non-starter in these circumstances.Flag

Name: Suzanne Kendal-Morgan on Dec 11, 2009Comments: I am against the proposed Western Bypass, believing very strongly that increasing roads will not reduce the traffic or solve the problem of future congestion. A better, more affordable bus serviced with bus stations which are in town would enable people to make more sustainable choices for the town.Flag

Name: William Hook on Jan 9, 2010Comments: Doxey Marsh is a lovely place to walk and ride a bike through, and it would be a great pity to lose this wonderful resource. Not to mention the increase in traffic to the town centre, which is busy enough as it is!Flag

Name: EDWARD CHAMBERS on Jan 9, 2010Comments: A more urgent improvement would be the bypass that has been proposed over the last 30 years or so on the east side of Stafford. If it was extended to Junction 13 of the M6 this would also help when there are problems on the motorwayFlag

Name: Catherine Stokes on Jan 10, 2010Comments: Its the A34 Lichfield Road and A449 Wolverhampton Road that need sorting ou tas regards to traffic problems. The Doxey Marshes has had enough land taken off it when the Henry Boot estate was built up the Eccleshall Road, and the disruption to people living in castletown would be horrendous. 100% against the Western bypass.Flag

Name: John Kelsall on Jan 12, 2010Comments: The public are not going to benefit from this development. All it will do is produce more congestion i.e. at least 2 cars per house built. Which developers are going to benefit and what is their relationship with the Council officals making the decision allowing this development to go ahead.Flag

Name: Christine Kelsall on Jan 12, 2010Comments: Stafford already has a by-passs, it is called the M6. What is really needed is a workable Park and Ride system. Have any of our councillors visited such towns as Chester or Shrewsbury to see how it is done? Or is this a case of "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" !!! But more important than all our words is Doxey Marshes and the Wildlife.Flag

Name: William Smith on Jan 13, 2010Comments: I think its time that both we and the council understood that the council works for us; if we do not want a plan of theirs implemented then it shouldn't be implemented. In a normal work situation where an employee does not do as he is asked, he is generally sacked; so how do we go about sacking the council?Flag

Name: Michael Hill on Jan 14, 2010Comments: i've read comments, i've read about the considered plans, i've seen this sort of plan go ahead in other boroughs and fail miserably, i have seen this scale of money wasted ten fold on these exact projects before with no great outcome, so all in all my opinion is to ditch the whole idea!Flag

Name: Philip Mcvay on Jan 18, 2010Comments: I feel that the planned bypass is a complete waste of my tax, it will in no way eliviate the ease of journey to Stafford from the south end of the town, especially as there are new housing estates in the planning for the Police head Quarters. I object to the proposal on every level!!!Flag

Name: Geoffrey Oliver on Jan 19, 2010Comments: I am very much in favour of any proposal that tackles Staffords growing traffic congestion. All the main entry roads into town are lined with Victorian houses and were therefore designed for the horse n cart so just as you are reading this in modern format not penny post, lets move on and get a modern road system.Flag

Name: Theresa Robbins on Jan 20, 2010Comments: My partner, myself and my one year old moved here just before Christmas and were unaware of any plans that would effect our lives, despite having paid for extra searches for local potential builds. We felt that Doxey Road, despite leading to an industrial area and being close to town would be acceptable for our first home as the road is not as busy as all other roads leading to town therefore air and noise polution being much better and safer than those. We feel horrified about the proposals for development on our door step which if go ahead would have a direct negative impact on our daughter's health and baby's health and we are disturbed by the information we've been provided with since about the actual reasons for this road, none of which benefit our us and our health, most other local residents, Stafford's infastructure, the climate, the marshes, tax paxers pcokets etc. I will not be paying taxes to line the pockets of developers who in turn will make my new home a living hell. Castle town has the potential to be a beautiful part of Staffod but not if the doxey road and surrounding areas are subjected to yet more concrete, more noise and more conjestion. These plans will spoil yet another part of Staffod.Flag
