Pfizer have developed a new treatment for diabetics - Exubera, an insulin which can be inhaled. The greatest potential advance in treatment for 80 years which could transform the lives of diabetics but it has been rejected by NICE on grounds of cost. However, it's benefits are huge. Not only will it bring an end to injections, for some up to five a day; but it will also reduce complications such as heart disease, amputation, blindness and kidney failure. Therefore, please show your support in asking NICE to reconsider its decision and to look at the overall benefits which would ultimately reduce lifecycle costs whilst improving the lives of millions.

I HAVE BEEN SPENDING MY ENTIRE WEEK WRITING LETTERS TO OFFICIALS ABOUT WHY THE INHALABLE INSULIN OPTION IS A COMPLETE GAME CHANGER!! THE STORIES OF PATIENTS AVOIDING DAILY INJECTIONS ARE FUELING MY DETERMINATION TO GET THIS RECONSIDERED BY NICE IMMEDIATELY!!

June 22, 2007

THIS MOMENTUM IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE AND IT SHOWS THAT PEOPLE REFUSE TO IGNORE THESE LIFE-CHANGING BENEFITS!! WE ARE READY TO SHOW THE DECISION MAKERS THAT THE HEALTH OF MILLIONS IS FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN RED TAPE AND COST CUTTING!!

This is ridiculous. People are suffering and losing limbs and they are worried about the cost of an inhaler? Fix this now.

NICE is just looking at the bottom line instead of the people. 5 shots a day is no way to live. please reconsider this.
