Comments: I agree, it is unfair. I always thought you had to be a citizen before you could recieve public aide so why do they make you sign this affidavit if you cannot get it Just my opinion on this subject.

Comments: I have a friend who is directly affected by this. She is married to a hard-working, decent DUTCH man who can't get in this country, but yet the INS will give Visas to the September 11 terrorists post-humously What is wrong with this picture

Comments: I support this petition. I am a chinese from Asia country and married to my US citizen husband, and we submit our application 2years ago, till now we still waiting for our interview for GreenCard. Our lawyer whom we found online, did not even really help us out, infact after we paid them full, they did not continue to help us, in stead he gave us false information and wrong proverty guideline resulting we have to look for another sponsor. INS should punish those lawyers who mislead people like us. there will be another poor victims going to be fool by those lawyers and tricked all their hard work money. Our sponsor prospect was scared by the information he gathered from the INS officer to ask about his liablity to sponsor me, they told him he is liable for 10years, and he ask him what should I do if he has worker from Jaimaca want to come over. Guess what he told him He said "Run away". (meaning don't sponsor). Its not fair, to scare the sponsor off, then kick me back out of USA. My husband and I are so much in love, if its so difficult grant us the chance to be together. Beside, my husband is US vetran, and we married 2years already, INS delay the paperwork, due to terrorist attrack on 9/11 then the war, the proverty guidline keep increasing, they don't even care our submission date, they just increase, its hard for us to catch up. Worst is that, I have around saving that is more than 50K but INS officer said that my saving account in foreign country does not count and cannot be bring in too. What is is even if I want to bring my money over to this country to invest and help the economic here to improve...i am surprise why the system here is so 'stiff'- "not flexible". INS do not count foreign saving and asset as an income. Since The war in Iraq started, and those soldiers are killed then they are award with US citizenship, what the use The dead men cannot 'feel' the joy of being a citizen, afterall he dead , is it not so I don't see any reason to be happy about if I am the dead soldier's family. If they want to make the soldier feel good, once they join army, they should straight away granted the citizenship, not after they died. We are alive here, beside my husband are vetran in Vietnam war, why INS officer still insist that his income is below proverty line When he is on Vetran Compensation income I hope someone can help us. and hope the system change to less strict. People like me, are foreigner, we are well skilled and educated people, we come her because we love our spouses and this country and we can contribute to this country with valuable knowledge we gained back in our birth land to this land here. I felt very sad and disappointed about the system and delay.

Comments: I am in a situation like you described here. All I want is to bring my wife and child here with me. My wife wants to work. I have become semi-disabled, and need her here, and working, to that we can be together once again. We've been apart for 2 years now. My family are "old americans", and have been here for over 350 years. Will I be forced to leave the United States, to be with my wife and daughter We admit thousands of people from all over the world into this country, yearly. I was born and raised here. What are my rights

Comments: I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A REDICULOUS REQUIREMENT. JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE DOESN'T MAKE AS MUCH MONEY DOESN'T MEAN THAT THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO SUPPORT SOMEONE. I AM AN AMERICAN CITIZEN AND I HAVE THIS PROBLEM RIGHT KNOW. I PAY WORK, PAY TAXES, AND SUPPORT MY CHILD. MY HUSBAND IS AN ILLEGAL BUT HE ALSO WORKS AND PAYS TAXES.
