Anonymous | It is important to protect innocence, because that is all we have to protect us. Otherwise we all have to worry about being picked up for a crime we did not do but were in the nearby area. Remember: people are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt...
Andrew Herrera | Justice matters, without Justice, man is doomed to be an animal. Troy Davis is innocent of the crimes he is being charged with! Everyone who is a believer in justice should all demandm not ask for the release of Troy Anthony Davis!
Nicholas Dropinski | Because liberty matters.
Peggy Clark | "Innocence until proven guilty" is supposed to be guaranteed. The retractions of the witnesses in this case scream innocence or at least reasonable doubt.
Dennis Cimino | the entire system, more adroitly, the Dept. of JUST US, has become so CORRUPT and SCUMMY that you cannot trust it to do the right thing and undo the harm it has done to this man by railroading him. It is imperative that there be a DEATH PENALTY MORATORIUM except for POLITICAL CORRUPTION CASES INVOLVING HIGH TREASON and WAR CRIMES.
Barbara Clifford
MARIAH L. JOHNSON | I care for equal rights.

Leslie de Taillandier
Betty Calhoun
Steven Buhler | I have spent a lot of thoughtful moments coming to the decision to rescind my feelings about capital punishment. I now support the ideals of capital punishment being immoral and illegal. That is all. Thank you.
jonathan le goff | because no one else but the creator has the right to decide who should live or not

Anonymous | Presumption of innocence is a fundamental human right, and a requirement in US criminal cases in that the prosecution must prove beyond a reasonable doubt the guilt of the defendant. Since Troy Davis has been convicted of a capital crime on recanted eyewitness testimony, and no physical evidence, this presents a reasonable doubt Mr. Davis deserves clemency.
Anonymous | As Americans, we should continue to uphold our "innocent until proven guilty" ideals--a man with evidence of such a grand-scale in favor of his innocence should not have to fight to this degree to show he is innocent.
Peter Klok | The world cannot understand why America is not living up to its own self-omage as the land of freedom and justice for all.
Christopher Matthias
Paula Morris | We must fight for those who are innocent. The justice will not.
Patrick GENEST
A. Christopher Miller | Too many innocent people are put to death in this world...if there is any chance to avoid this or any evidence to support their innocence it MUST be heard!
Pascale Duc | Death Penalty is a murder when someone is wrongfully convicted. So Innocence matters !
Anonymous | Simple - what if it were *you* ?
Joan Unterweger | The death penalty needs to be abolished.
Karen Fowler
Anonymous | This is unfair and goes against what this country is all about.
manette garrison | The government does not have the right to incarcerate and kill a person who is the victim of our flawed judicial system.
Angela Choberka | Because it could be anyone in this situation. Innocence matters!
Anonymous | As a Georgia native, I would be ashamed of my state to the point of not wanting to live there any more if Georgia executes an innocent man. The evidence given in the original trial is not valid. This needs to go to the Supreme Court.
Anonymous | without justice there is no law
Dave Knight | The death penalty is state sanctioned murder.
polly stembridge
Mari Watanabe
Amy Dalessandro
| 1489 | Anonymous | I do not know almost anything about Davis, and I of course do not know if he is innocent or not. But I am sure that his death penalty is not acceptable, it does not do better for the family of the first victim, and does not do better for the society.
Even less acceptable if there is not clear evidence of the fact that this man actually killed the first victim. |
Anonymous | Innocent people should not be convicted
Jolene Sameshima | Innocence should matter to everyone. If an innocent man is executed those responsible are no better than the true perpetrator of the crime.
