   Comments: The Schuyler-Stanford House (1814) is as historic as Albany's Schuyler and Ten Broeck Mansions and should be saved from demolition. The house is in great condition and could support itself with the right occupants.

   Comments: The Ingersoll property is a green oasis historic treasure in Niskayuna. Once destroyed it cannot be replaced. Reducing it to a level area for more box stores is a travesty. There are a lot of vacant stores already in the area - one more drug store is absurd. There has been NO creative thinking by the present owners about a re-use for this building and its grounds. Their motto seems to be: "Destroy and move on!".

    Comments: I was a member of the Ingersoll's board of trustees in the 1970s. I was the chief of surgery at St Clare hospital in Schenectady for 17 years until I retired in 2000. I took care of the Ingersoll residents for all my years of practice and I am very aware of what is going on at this time. The proposal to dismantle this historical and beautiful site in order to make a few rich people richer and an area of Niskayuna already malled to death "MALLIER" is a shame, a disgrace and will tarnish the names of the people who are trying to push it through for the rest of their lives and for all of this region's history. Please don't be deaf to the voice of the majority of the public and the outcry of the local residents. Please don't mall Ingersoll.

    Comments: There are places I've visited recently on the east coast that have completely lost any of their regional character. Driving on Midlothian Thurnpike in Virginia is essentially undistinguishable from Sunrise HIghway on Long Island or the main surburban drag through Tonawanda, New York. Before you destroy this refuge, this neighborhood buffer, please reconsider. It can never be reclaimed.

    Comments: When I moved to Niskayuna in 1965 (and have lived until last year, when I moved one block over the town/city border) I was most pleased by the bucolic nature of the area. It was one of the main reasons my husband and I bought our first and second houses in Old Niskayuna. In the last twenty years, it seems like there has been a concerted effort to pave or build up every free inch of our community. To my eye, The Ingersoll Home has been one of the few places one can glimpse a bit of how lovely our community once was. I seriously doubt that we need another mall-how about filling St. James, or the empty spaces across the street at the Raymour Mall, or downtown That scenario should at least be discussed further before a beautiful, historical, irreplaceable structure is torn down. Our children will not treasure another drug store.

    Comments: I urge the Town of Niskayuna to support their own forestry program as stated in their codes. Locust Grove need not be destroyed for another not smart growth project. The Town of Niskayuna was proactive in its stance recognizing the importance of preserving green space. Now it needs to comply and follow through with its vision.
