Comments: Please pass the infertility insurance mandate. I have heard stories of couples selling their houses in order to fund their IVF cycles. It is unacceptable that people have to go to such lengths to have children.

Comments: My husband was born with a congenital defect in his vas deferens that we didn't know about until we started trying to conceive. Our only chance of having children is to do IVF with sperm aspiration and ICSI. Our insurance doesn't cover a single penny.

Comments: I have a cousin who has been trying for so long to have a baby. I know she even had a nursery ready. She wants children so bad, one of her own, not just to adopt. This would help so much.

Comments: We tried for so long before being forced to give up, mostly because of financial reasons. We just didn't have the money to continue. To put the financial aspect into focus, in 2006 the average IVF cycle cost the same amount as a 2006 Kia Rio. For the price some have had to pay to get a child, they could have had a fleet of cars.
