The four members of Slade came together in 1966. They stayed together until 1991 and during that time they became a musical institution with a live act second to none. They were constantly compared to the Beatles, had 6 number ones and sold 50 million records during the 70's alone. Their album 'Slade Alive!' is often cited as one of the best live albums ever released and their film, Slade In Flame, is recognised by critics today, 35 years after it's release, as "the best rock movie of all time." With 33 top 30 hits to their name, a second coming in the 80's and recognition from the likes of Kiss, The Who, Oasis and a plethora of luminaries from the music business, is it not time for a little respect and recognition for 'services rendered.' Slade, they're not just for Xams and they are more than a Glam Rock band.
