For 30 years, LL Cool J has not only been a staple in hip hop music, but an iconic figure who helped pioneer and shape an art form. Not only did he help build the empire known as Def Jam, he also introduced and mastered the love ballad in rap form with his hit single "I Need Love" revolutionizing the game of hip hop. Several platinum selling artists today have expressed how influential LL Cool J was and remains to be on their careers. Artists such as Eminem, Nelly and Macklemore have all praised LL and his body of work. From 1983 to 2013, LL has managed to release 10 platinum albums and receive 9 Grammy nominations and 2 Grammy awards. He has displayed the ability to remain original and versatile through different era's and generations. He has all the awards, accolades, statistics, fans from all over the world, the respect and the certified hits, but he just needs one more trophy for the case to cap off a legendary career. That would be an induction to the rock and roll hall of fame. Grandmaster Flash and the Furious five, Run DMC, Public Enemy and the Beastie Boys have all been inducted, but they are all hip hop groups and since LL is used to breaking new ground and originating things, how about LL Cool J being the first solo rap artist in the rock and roll hall of fame?
