Name: Nikunj Patel on Mar 17, 2003Country: INComments: I agree. Its been too long that the normal class has been oppressed on the basis of reservations. If you want the backward class to come forward, then i dont think that reserving seats will solve the problem. I would suggest awards to be constituted which can be disbursed to SC and ST and all the reserved class people. Keep the amounts small not a Lakh or so but say about Rs. 4000 or so. This will encourage students to work hard. Moreover, using this money they can join tuitions classes and what not and come still forward in life. This proposal is definitely better than lowering the bar for those lazy incompetent people !! (most of them, there are exceptions to the rule and I dont want to penalize them)Flag

Name: Praveen Balakrishnan on May 19, 2003Country: INComments: I know atleast 10 people in my XII standard who got lesser marks in the engg. entrance exams, but got admissions into good Engg. colleges because they were either a BC/MBC/SC/ST/blah/blah. But, I belonged to this caste called "Other Caste (OC)" so I did not get a seat.. thought I scored much much higher marks then those "Premium Caste" people !!.. funny.. veeeeeeeeryy funny. If a person is knowledgeable enough/literate, he should apply under the "Open Quota" and not under the "reserved quota".. I say, we gather all those people who put such rules in this country and shoot them "Point Blank".. !Flag

Name: Ajay Das on Jul 7, 2003Country: INComments: I disagree with the aforesaid views regarding reservation. True our constituition says about "EQUALITY", but with an understanding that it shall be followed when every individual comes on a common platform. It has been felt that reservation has certainly done some good cause for SC/ST, but still a whole lot of population are below the datum. Perhaps this is due to the fact that what has ben done to them since thousand of years cannot be rectified in few years.A surgery or a bridge is not done or made by a single individual, but by a panel. Hence if a patient dies or a bridge gives way SC/ ST doctors or engineers cannot be blamed. In simple words, I would like to state that provision of reservation can be understood as or compared with Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where one patient is given prefernce over other with a noble and justified cause.Flag

No body has the right to play with our future, simply to make their own selfish gains achieved (read votes). If reservtion is to be given at all conduct an entrance test for the people applying in sepecial quata and only the most deserving should be benefitted. Why should career and dreams of millions be sacrificed at the cost of few.Flag

Every election year, these politicians make promises that to all these jhugiwalas, has anyone ever seen them shouting slogans and promises in an educated society, because they already know, it will not earn them votes. One Other thing, The word 'POLITICS', is derived from two words'Poli'&'Tics" Poli- means many Tics- are BLOOD-SUCKING-INSECTS. LET RANG-DE-BASANTI START....... THERE IS NO OTHER OPTION... THESE BLOODY INSECTS ARE DESTROYING ARE DRAING THE BLOOD OUT THE COUNTRY, IT"S TIME THAT SOMEONE TAKE SOME ACTION... THESES BLOODY CREATURES HAVE TO BE DEALT WITH.Flag

Thanks to youth of India including you for the unprecedented move against the evil surviving for more than fifty years. I was born in a caste which is counted in OBC. How does that make any diffrence Right is right and wrong is wrong. I am practicing law after my retirement and pleading public interest litigations, for enforcement of public rights. I am going to file a writ petition in Hon'ble Supreme Court of India shortly for declaration that reservation on caste basis and for education and promotion is against basic structure of the Constitution and therefore null and void'. Let us hope for the good. It shall be my pleasure If I can help in the matter. Wish you and your student brothers all Sthe best.Continue marching, success is waiting for you.Flag

Yes its valuable, because the government by doing this sorts of things by giving the SC and ST's the good opportunity of jobs or helping them to get good college even if they get low percentage, leaving aside the general one. It completely shows that they are considering the SC and ST's as lower. What do they do with cast and relegion of a particular. It is just making us all seperate, no unity among all. What do you sayFlag
